Hey Beloved Ladies,
We are going to be using John Eldridge’s new book, “Get Your Life Back: Everyday Practices for a World Gone Mad” as a guide for the eight week study.
Our world has definitely “gone mad” and the pandemic has added stress in ways no one could have predicted. I don’t know about you, but I have been looking for some new tools to deal with the new stressors that have been introduced into our lives. What I love about this book is that the author introduces simple but powerful practices that bring us back to how God created us to live our lives. With them, we can discover or rediscover the power that God has given to us through Jesus Christ and the peace He promised we could live in, no matter what is going on in our world. You and I are made to walk with God every day and experience His love in real ways throughout it.
Each week we will look at one or two practices from the book and if you are joining me in person, we will be having small group discussions around tables afterward. You can sign up here.
If you are joining me online, you will receive an email from me every Thursday Morning that will include a video teaching and a PDF of the notes. You can sign up here.
For those of you who are readers, I highly encourage you to get the book. If you want to add more personal study during the week, pick up the Study Guide.
However, you don’t have to get the book or the Study Guide to join us. I will be teaching and will provide discussion questions.
No matter what is going on around us, even in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, we have the promise of God’s presence with us:
“The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:5-7 NIV
As I prepare, I am asking God to heal us, transform our minds and empower each one of us to truly live loved by Him in the craziness that is our new reality.
I can’t wait to see you in person or online,
-Pastor Cindy Grasso
